Renowned for it’s wild apres ski scene Solden is also home to two glaciers and over 100km of extensive intermediate terrain. The terrain here is very much geared towards intermediates. Long cruising runs being the norm, ideal for showing off on. The resort is very snow-sure and the two glaciers, the Rettenbach and the Tiefenbach glaciers, are both linked to the resort and reachable by lift. The Rettenbach reaches 3200m and serves both blue and red slopes with impressive verticals. The Tiefenbach is less challenging but there are more slopes here most of them served by drags.
Sölden is a great place for 'boarders, on and off the slopes. The year-round terrain is served by more chairs and gondolas as a percentage of the total number of lifts than the vast majority of Alpine resorts. The Fun Park on the Rettenbach Glacier has half-pipe, jumps and rolls, the year round Euro Test Centre there offers the latest gear by market leaders like Burton, amongst others, to try out.
Apres Ski
Popular nightspots for 'boarders currently include Bierhimml + Joker, Après Ski Club and the Centro Club. The apres ski scene is one of the many reasons that keep people coming back to Solden- it is riotous. There are plenty of bars and clubs to keep the “apres skier” amused when not on the slopes.
Other Amenities
Snowboarding shops in the village include Sport Riml, Sport Brugger, Insider Treffs, Bierhimml, Joker, Sport Glanzer and Blabla.
